Rearcross U-10's held a two nil lead with eight minutes remaining in this league game at Rearcross FC Grounds, however a blistering finish from Silvermines saw the vistors emerge 4-2 victors at the final whistle. The home side hit the front with just 40 seconds gone with a flowing move down the left flank saw Patrick Dawson finish at the back post with a deft touch. Silvermines came close on five minutes with a Conor McKelvey effort from a tight angle, however Cillian Kennedy was equal to the effort with a good save. It was end for most of the first half and Paul Nolan did well to head over his own crossbar from a Michael Corcoran pile driver. The visitors made strong finish to the half with Conor McKelvey's effort pulling just left of the upright. Rearcross showed promise at the start of the second half and were unlucky not to extend their lead whe Stephen Rochford raided down the left before squaring an inch perfect ball to Patrick Dawson who was unlucky to see his effort drag away from the target. Rearcross doubled their tally in the 26th minute when Aidan Bryan sent a superb ball in over the top to in running Patrick Dawson who finished with aplomb. The lead could have been stretched to three midway through the half when Patrick Dawson was in space in front of goal, however the Silvermines custodian advanced to avert the danger. Silvermines upped the ante and blitzed the home side in the remaining minutes with Michael Corcoran and Conor McKelvey particularily impressive for the visitors. Michael Corcoran made it 2-1 in the 32nd minute with a well struck effort and then Michael Corcoran levelled matters with a goal from the spot a minute later. Rearcross were on the back foot at this stage and conceded a third minutes later when Patrick Quigley was on target. Conor McKelvey wrapped it up for the blue and whites four minutes from time with a well taken goal, Rearcross will be disappointed to have lost out after being two up, but will regroup for the next outing.
